DAYTON, Ohio - Community Blood Center (CBC) is pleased to honor Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek and Greene County Memorial Hospital in Xenia with LifeSaving Ambassadors Club awards for blood drive excellence in 2013.
Soin and Greene Memorial, partner hospitals in the Kettering Health Network, both qualified as Silver members in the LifeSaving Ambassadors Club for each hosting two CBC blood drives in 2013 and exceeding their collections goals. Their combined blood drives totaled 75 registrations, including 22 first-time donors, and resulted in 60 blood donations.
"We are happy to partner with the Community Blood Center, and to stand with you in providing life to others," said Terry Burns, senior vice president for Soin Medical and Greene Memorial. "No doubt you see the passion among many of our team to be a part of your mission."
The 2013 blood drives marked a new CBC partnership with Soin and the renewal of a long-standing relationship with Greene Memorial. Soin Medical Center opened its doors Feb. 22, 2012 to help serve the growing population in the Beavercreek area and soon hosted its first CBC blood drive on Aug. 27, 2013. Greene Memorial has a history of hosting CBC blood drives. It held no blood drives in 2012 but resumed in 2013. Soin will host four blood drives in 2014 and Greene Memorial will host three.
"We are so glad they have come onboard to be part of our blood drive program," said CBC Donor Relations Manager Tracy Morgan. "It's a success story. They decided on hosting blood drives quickly. It's exciting to this partnership grow!"
"I would like to recognize blood drive coordinator Donna Saraga for her efforts to reinstate the blood drives at Greene Memorial Hospital and for initiating the blood drives sponsored by Soin Medical Center," said Judy Blankenship, CBC account representative for Greene County. "We look forward to future blood drives being held at both facilities and also the potential for additional growth."
Soin Medical Center's next blood drive is scheduled for July 29 and Greene Memorial's next blood drive is Sept. 4.
