‘MAKE A DIFFERENCE’ BY DONATING AT OCT. 25 BLOOD DRIVE

October 22, 2019

DAYTON, Ohio - Begin your celebration of National Make A Difference Day by giving blood Friday, Oct. 25 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dayton Community Blood Center, 349 S. Main St. Make an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call (937) 461-3220.

Everyone who registers to donate will receive one free ticket for the Oct. 25-26 weekend of the Brimstone Haunt attraction at the Renaissance Park Event Center (while supplies last).  There will also be pretzels from Philly Pretzel Factory and Danish pastries from Evans Bakery, plus everyone will receive an "I Made A Difference - I Donated Blood" sticker and the "My Compassion Defines Me. I Donate Blood to Fight Cancer" t-shirt.

Established in 1992, National Make A Difference Day is one of the largest single days of service in the United States and around the world.  The fourth Saturday of October is designated as "a national day of doing good." It emphasizes volunteering as more of a privilege than an obligation, with a positive impact on local communities and society.

Brimstone Haunt tickets are courtesy of the Brimstone Haunt attraction at the Renaissance Park Event Center, home of the Ohio Renaissance Festival.  The Haunted Hayride, Forgotten Forest and the new Psychosis maze are open Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. to midnight at 472 Brimstone Road, Wilmington.

Platelets and plasma are vitally important for the treatment of cancer patients, as well as trauma, transplant, and burn patients. The Dayton CBC offers the opportunity to donate platelets and plasma. Find out more at www.GivingBlood.org  or talk to an apheresis specialist at (937) 461-3220.
