NEW FACE MASK, FREE KINGS ISLAND TICKET FRIDAY AT DAYTON CBC

July 27, 2020

DAYTON, Ohio - Community Blood Center will host a final "Kings Island Day Blood Drive" and introduce the new "Blood Donor" face mask Friday, July 31 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dayton CBC Donation Center, 349 S. Main St.  Everyone who registers to donate will receive a free Kings Island ticket (while supplies last), the Blood Donor face mask, and the "Time to Save a Life" t-shirt.

Donors must make an appointment and wear a face mask. Schedule your donation at www.DonorTime.com or call (937) 461-3220.

Beginning Friday, the new Blood Donor face mask will be free to registered donors at the Dayton CBC Donation Center and all CBC mobile blood drives.

Ohio's statewide face mask mandate went into effect July 23. Community Blood Center has required all staff members and donor to wear face masks since early April. Governor Mike DeWine said evidence shows wearing face masks is key to slowing the rate of COVID-19 infection.

CBC is encouraging support for the Friday, July 31 "Kings Island Day Blood Drive" to help maintain the blood supply through another difficult summer weekend. There are fewer mobile blood drives on Friday and Saturday and no collections on Sunday.

Reservations are not required to visit Kings Island. The park will operate on a five-day per week schedule for the first two weeks of August and weekends only for the remainder of the month.   The fall and winter schedule will be announced later.

CBC continues to maintain social distancing and other COVID-19 safeguards at all blood drives. Capacity remains limited at some blood drives, while blood usage continues to rise. To meet demand CBC must recruit first-time donors and challenge all donors with the pledge to make two appointments to donate and keep them.
