DAYTON, Ohio - Community Blood Center will give away a bag of treats to get donors in the door for the "Trick or Treat Blood Drive," Friday, Oct. 30 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dayton CBC Donation Center, 349 S. Main St. Donors must make an appointment at or call (937) 461-3220.

It's the final McFriday Blood Drive of October and comes at a critical time for sustaining the blood supply. Everyone who registers to donate will get a goody bag that includes a Kroger $10 gift card, a McDonald's sandwich coupon, the new "Together We Give" face mask, choice of any of the three "Wake Up & Donate" t-shirts, and a full-size candy bar.

It's also a final chance to be entered in the "Wake Up & Give" drawing to win a luxury Sleep Number bed, sponsored exclusively by Sleep Number.  Everyone who registers to donate is automatically included in the drawing. The final day to enter is Saturday, Oct. 31.

The "Trick or Treat Blood Drive" is the final McFriday Blood Drive, sponsored by Dayton McDonald's Operator Debbie Wright. She donated free sandwich coupons to all Dayton CBC donors every Friday in October.

There only 24 blood drives in the CBC region during the week of Oct. 26 after nine cancellations. Type O blood remains in high demand and in short supply. Businesses and high schools blood drives that have not cancelled are at reduced capacity.

Hospital usage of COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma (CCP) has surged and CBC is calling on CCP donors to "Fight, Heal, & Give." The antibody-rich plasma from those who have recovered from COVID-19 is vital for the treatment of coronavirus patients. CCP donors will receive the "COVID-19 Crisis Warrior" t-shirt.  Learn more and register to donate CCP at or call (937) 461-3220.
