DAYTON, Ohio - Come on, come all to the "Summer Carnival Blood Drive" Friday, Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. only at the Dayton Community Blood Center, 349 S. Main St.  There will be cotton candy, lollipops, and a variety of prizes for everyone who registers to donate. Appointments are encouraged at or call (937) 461-3220.

Donors can test their luck at the "Summer Carnival" by choosing an envelope with a surprise inside. The minimum prize is a $10 gift card. Some lucky donors will find a Kroger $25 or $50 gift card or win a YETI Rambler tumbler with custom CBC blood drop logo. Everyone who registers to donate will also get the "Blood Donors are the GOAT" t-shirt.

The Summer Carnival giveaway is a fun way to encourage donors to help CBC boost the blood supply as we begin the final month of summer.

COVID-19 restrictions have limited many corporate and community blood drives during the summer months when hospital blood usage is traditionally high. CBC hopes for a full return to the high school blood drive schedule in the fall, but the first high school blood drives are not until the end of August.

CBC is welcoming first-time donors and new blood drive sponsors. Call (937) 461-3220 to learn how you can help.
