Carolyn Herron of Hamilton was the lucky blood donor who won a 2009 Honda Civic on Tuesday, September 22. Herron qualified for the Community Blood Center car giveaway when she registered to donate blood during the “Do Your Civic Duty” blood drive held from July 6 – September 5. Almost 16,000 people registered to donate during that time.

Herron was one of 10 finalists present on Tuesday for the giveaway. Each finalist chose an envelope, with one containing a “golden ticket.” All other finalists received a $50 gas card.

Herron said she will be giving the car to her son, an Eastern Kentucky University student.
